Exposed brick chimney and roof-level masonry

Service overview

Water sealing starts with a sound wall

A masonry treatment should not be used to cover cracked joints, leaking gutters or defective flashings. Those faults must be diagnosed and repaired first so water is not trapped behind a coating or diverted elsewhere.

Where brickwork is sound but unusually exposed, a compatible vapour-permeable treatment can reduce liquid water absorption while still allowing water vapour to escape. We assess the surface, carry out trials where appropriate and explain whether sealing is suitable.

Why it matters

The benefits of professional brickwork protection

Swipe to explore the benefits →

01

Reduced rain absorption

A suitable treatment can reduce the amount of liquid water entering exposed, porous masonry.

02

Continued vapour movement

Breathable products allow internal moisture vapour to leave rather than forming a sealed surface.

03

Targeted protection

Assessment and test application help avoid unnecessary treatment of walls that need another repair instead.

Our process

Careful work from inspection to finish

We assess the property first, explain the suitable approach and complete the work with protection and tidy working practices.

  1. Identify the water source

We inspect pointing, bricks, gutters, flashings and nearby details before recommending any treatment.

  2. Repair and prepare

Defective joints and bricks are addressed first, then the clean masonry is allowed adequate drying time.

  3. Test and apply

A compatible treatment is trialled and applied evenly under suitable weather conditions.
